Your ski holiday Amid of the big ski areas

The small, idyllic holiday resort of Viehhofen is nestled in an ideal location between some of the largest and most famous ski resorts in Austria. This location allows you to enjoy unlimited skiing in a different ski area every day if you want, while at the same time returning to the peaceful location of Viehhofen to unwind after a long day of skiing. Ambitious skiers get their money's worth here!

But you should always pay attention to the operating times of the gondolas at the end of your ski days so that you can get back to Viehhofen without any problems. Maybe you can forget the time on the perfectly groomed slopes. In general, it can be assumed that the mountain railways will be in operation until 4:00 p.m.

The zellamseeXpress offers you the fastest and easiest entry into a paradise for skiers.

Use the interactive piste map to plan your ski day.

Die Schmittenhöhe The family ski area

The Schmittenhöhe itself is only 2,000 meters high, but with a spectacular view of over 30 three-thousanders, it is one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Salzburg region. After the opening of section II of the zellamseeXpress in winter 2016/17, the long-planned connection between Viehhofen in the Glemmtal and the Schmitten was completed with the construction of section I of the zellamseeXpress.

Since the winter season 2019/20, Viehhofen has had direct access to the modern panoramic and family ski area Schmittenhöhe - including bus connection, sports shop, cash desk area, and information center. The descent from the Schmittenhöhe is conveniently made with section I of the zellamseeXpress, via the already passable one-kilometer-long ski route, or the ski route on the prepared forest path. Both ski routes lead to the bus stop “Förstereck” at the end of the Kreuzerlehengraben.

SKicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

With 270 kilometres of perfectly prepared pistes and 70 state-of-the-art lifts, Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is officially one of the largest ski resorts in Austria. You will find numerous snow parks, freeride parks, floodlit slopes, speed and race tracks, fun-cross routes and much more, making this ski area a paradise for young and old alike.

Viehhofen is connected to the Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn ski area via a fantastic valley run that leads from almost 1,900 m above sea level to the centre of Viehhofen. Thanks to the easy nature (blue piste), the valley run to Viehhofen is a pleasure even for less experienced skiers.

The Skicircus, also known as the Home of Lässig, can be reached with a free ski shuttle (with a valid ski pass). The ski shuttle runs at least every 20 minutes in the morning and afternoon and takes you to the Schönleitenbahn, your perfect entry into the ski circuit. Because no matter whether you are heading to Leogang or Saalbach, both places can be reached from the summit.

Please note that run number 168 is a natural snow slope and is therefore not always accessible.

With the ticket network from Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See and Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun, the mountain experience becomes more varied and comfortable than ever.

The key to this: the ALPIN CARD, which you can easily purchase from the Viehhofen Tourist Service Centre.
