Whether it’s a scenic mountain hike, a fun nature experience for children or a leisurely stroll through the village
Viehhofen has something to suit every taste. Guided hikes invite you to discover the mountain world together, step by step. Children’s hikes allow young guests to experience nature in a playful way, with plenty of activity, curiosity and little adventures along the way. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace can get to know Viehhofen’s cosy and historic side on a stroll through the village.

For Glückscard holders, participation – including the journey up on the zellamseeXpress – is free of charge.
Accompanied by a hiking guide, there are varied tours every week – sometimes on the sunny side of Viehhofen, sometimes along scenic trails on the Schmittenhöhe.
You can find out exactly where the hike is heading at the Viehhofen - Info. The guided hikes take place weekly on Thursdays from early June to mid-September.

Guided children’s hike
Participation is free for Glückscard holders.
Every Tuesday afternoon in July and August, children who love nature have the chance to experience the forest in a very special way! Together with our experienced trail guide, they will explore the children’s nature trail and learn fascinating facts about the local flora and fauna. Through play and with plenty of enthusiasm, these little explorers will be introduced to the wonders of nature.

Guided village walk
As the sun slowly disappears behind the mountains and dusk falls over Viehhofen, a particularly atmospheric time begins in the village. A leisurely evening stroll through Viehhofen or along the Saalach takes you through the peaceful atmosphere of the mountain landscape and invites you to wind down the day in a relaxed manner.
Along the way, our guide will tell you interesting stories about the village – from the origins of Viehhofen to the region’s historic copper mining. A relaxing walk with fascinating insights and beautiful views, the perfect way to round off a day in the mountains.
