Little Explorers find moments of pure joy in nature here
On the children’s hiking trail in Viehhofen, nature becomes a place of discovery for the whole family. Amidst trees, play stations and little discoveries, an outing unfolds that feels effortless yet leaves a lasting impression.
Children can marvel, play and try things out. Adults enjoy the fresh forest air, the peaceful surroundings and the pleasure of being out and about together. That is precisely what makes the children’s hiking trail so special: it combines nature, exercise and family time in a simple and heart-warming way.
Here’s what you can expect along the way
Along the way, there are lots of little stops that introduce children to nature in a fun way. These include
- Animal figures such as a deer, a fox or a hare
- the Dendrophon
- a tree telephone
- play stations with Tic Tac Toe and Nine Men’s Morris
- a hunter’s hide and
- a water play area.
This turns a simple walk into a varied family outing in the woods.
Anyone visiting Viehhofen with children will find a place where nature can be experienced in a playful way. There’s no grand or noisy programme, but plenty of little moments that make a day’s holiday special.

Guided children’s hike
In the summer, a guided children’s hike is added to the programme.
- Tuesday at 3:00 pm
- Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
- Registration by Monday at 12:00 noon
- Participation is free with the Glückscard (Summercard).
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- Open from May to October. As soon as the children’s nature trail is open, this will be announced on Facebook and Instagram.
